"It is with much sadness that I learnt of Gordons passing and I am very sorry that he did not get to do the job he was so looking forward to doing - a Presidential position for the Lanarkshire Philatelic Society. I was very much looking forward to working with him as my Vice President and will miss him very much. Gordon always engaged our meetings and took part with a great sense of fun. We will all miss him very much. I will remember you all in my prayers. I shall be grateful if you would pass on my condolences from all those members of the LPS to the family and forward the enclosed personal cheque of £20 in his memory to the British Lung Foundation. Yours Sincerely Margaret Lyth" Dear Margaret - I know how much he looked forward to this position. He mentioned this regret whilst in Hospital. But, Fate stepped in, and took him away from himself and us all far too early. His memory will be carried with us eternally, and his legacy will carry on with his own personal collection.
